Sports journalists from various local media outlets are part of the Fiji Sports Media Association symposium in Suva.

The two-day symposium which started yesterday was organized by FSMA in partnership with FASANOC.

The symposium has been organized to strengthen and build the confidence of sports journalists to report fairly and provide factual information to the public.

Former Sports Journalist Matai Akauola reminded the participants the importance of their role as a sports journalist.

“The key thing that I want to leave with us is passion. You should have the passion of the job. Most of the time people won’t notice you but it’s the article that you put up and you know you given it your best shot.”

The symposium ends this afternoon.
