Youth Parliamentarians had the opportunity to debate issues that were close to their hearts in Parliament.
Youth Parliament Prime Minister Broderick Mervyn says he was humbled to be part of the program this year and it was an added bonus to be chosen as Prime Minister.
He says that with the role of PM he is able to share not just his or the Government’s views and concerns but that of the nation.
Broderick’s advice to young people who are aspiring to be youth parliamentarians is to continue to strive and achieve what they believe in.
Youth Parliament Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources, Metuisela Vakaciwa shared the same sentiments saying it was always a dream for him to be a parliamentarian.
Issues raised in Parliament ranged from teenage pregnancies, unemployment, crime, scholarships, suicide, drugs amongst other things.
