A Fiji based organization is encouraging youth to enhance their skills in the technological sector.
PasifikaNEXUS believes if used in a positive way, the technology can greatly help in the country’s development.
And in an effort to encourage the younger generation in this field, a weeklong “Youth Techcamp” event has been planned.
Head of PasifikaNEXUS – Salanieta Tamaniwaimaro says participants will get an opportunity to learn about the mobile software development.
People from all over the Pacific are coming in; there will also be participants from countries like Pakistan, Phillipines and US. We have more than 250 young people coming, they will be learning about internet governance and some of the aspects which will be covered are child online protection and safe surfing.
The Youth Techcamp will take place from November 20 – 21 and November 26 – 30 at the University of the South Pacific.
