All young principals are under scrutiny.
This follows the increase in reports received by the Ministry regarding the performance of newly appointed young principals around the country.
Akbar claims this signifies that young teachers are still not ready to take up leadership roles.
“This does not mean that you are not good leaders. Some of you prove to be better leaders than those who have a lot of experience than those who we have trusted. We put our faith in these young leader but again the fact is that you need to take responsibility.”
Akbar says principals should not always rely on the Ministry to conduct professional development for them.
She adds the Ministry wants modern day leaders who can move forward and in working with their staff and students to ensure the Ministry’s goals are delivered.
