The legal fraternity has been encouraged to nurture and mentor young professionals entering the field.
Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum made the call last night.
“Definitely from our perspective what we do see is that there is a lack of mentoring generally in the private practice. In the SG’s Chambers, we spend a lot of time and money on the mentoring system.”

Sayed-Khaiyum pointed out that breach of ethics have cropped up from time to time among young lawyers while the more the experienced ones have other issues which need improvement.
Sayed-Khaiyum has also encouraged legal practitioners to stay up to date with news laws and has offered assistance via the Solicitor General’s Office.
