Young designers take out top fashion award

High School students Seci Burese and Andre Marseu were given the FBC TV Project Jejemon Fashion Designer of the Year award last night.

Their label – Vou and S&M – featured nine men’s wear and nine fantasy or recyclable wear and was showcased on the runway.

The Year 7 students dedicate their win to their family, friends and established fashion designers who have been their inspiration.

They had a word of advice to young and aspiring designers.

Our advice to young people, if you can dream it, pursue it, nothing is impossible just believe in yourself. Find a job that you love and you will never have to work a day in your life.

The duo also took out the Best Fantasy/ Recycle Award.

Meanwhile, Designer Aisea Konrote took out three awards last night.

These were the Rubenesque Award, the award for the three piece collection and the Resort Wear Award.

Ethnic Wear award went to AZA.

Ana Rabuka took the Evening Gown Award.

The Street-wear Award – Sidhat Maharaj took out the award and Mens ‘Wear Award went to 2nd Chance.
