Around 400 hundred people marched through the Flea market to Sukuna Park in Suva to stand up for their rights as workers and be heard by the Government.
The march was organized by the Fiji Trade Union Congress and a large number of their members turned up to participate in the march.
A few non-members as well as political party members also participated in the march.
FTUC General Secretary Felix Anthony says the the march is to protest against issues affecting workers in the country.
”We are dealing with the most fundamental issues that affect workers on everyday basis, that is about having decent wages, putting decent food on the table, its having rights at work, its having dignity at work.”
Anthony adds they are happy with the huge turnout.
FTUC has more than 40,000 members.
