Women's opinion is vital: FemLINKPACIFIC

July 20, 2015 5:28 am

While public consultations on the National Development Plan continue, a non government organisation, FemLINKPACIFIC is urging decision makers, not to disregard the views of women in the country.

FemLINKPACIFIC executive director Sharon Bhagwan Rolls says women’s opinion in development of any country is very important and the organization has been conducting consultations in various divisions to find out the status of women in rural and urban areas.

Rolls say if the concerns and the plight of women aren’t taken into consideration, they will continue to suffer in silence.

She added there should be equity and equal representation of women of all diversities in decision making processes in order to move the country forward.

Consultations in the Western and Northern divisions have been completed and consultations in the Central Division will be held on the 27th of this month.
