We will continue to assist Catholic schools: PM

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has stated that government will continue to assist all religious schools in the country.

Despite the ongoing negotiations between the Education Ministry and the Catholic Church for the appointment of Head Teachers and Principals, Bainimarama says this will not stop them from assisting all catholic schools.

Speaking to FBC News, Bainimarama says it is important that students receive quality education and at the same time strive for better things in life.

“We’ve assisted catholic schools, all religious schools in the past and that will continue, we’ve build schools, we’ve build colleges that belongs to the religious organisations, we never complained.”

Meanwhile the Education Ministry and the Catholic Church have agreed on some common grounds which could possibly solve the ongoing disputes on the appointment of Head Teachers and Principals.
