USP sets TOR for Independent Investigator

A Terms of Reference for the Independent Investigator who will be looking into the allegations of serious cases of mismanagement and abuse of process at the University of the South Pacific has been drafted.

The allegations have been made against USP’s former Vice-Chancellor and President.

In a statement, the USP says the draft TOR has been sent to Council Members for their approval by Thursday.

The TOR was drafted after request at the Port Vila USP Council Meeting last month.

The statement says as resolved at the Council Meeting, the Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee will then invite several Independent Investigators for their interest of which one will be engaged to begin the investigation by June 20.

The final investigation report has to be submitted by August 16.
