Unity Fiji Party Leader Savenaca Narube says they just need 26 candidates to win the elections outright.

This is after the party filed 31 candidate nomination with the Fijian Elections Office this morning.

Narube confirmed that the Party had received 55 expressions of interest to join Team Unity in this election, unfortunately, many had withdrawn due to fears of possible repercussions to their companies, jobs and families.

He says although they wanted a better mix of gender and ethnicity, he was satisfied with the line-up of Team Unity.

Narube adds that next milestone for the party is to publish their manifesto which they aim to do by the end of this week.
