The re-appointments of Felix Anthony and Daniel Urai to the Fiji Trades Union Congress is still under consideration by the Registrar of Trade Unions.

Minister responsible – Jioji Konrote says a due diligence exercise has been carried out and the FTUC appointments are now been vetted by the ministry’s lawyers.

Under the Employment Relations Promulgation, trade unions will now have their elections organized by the Supervisor of Elections; this includes the vetting and approval of all nominations.

Anthony and Urai had both resigned from their posts to contest the general elections in September.

Their re appointments were confirmed by the FTUC council earlier this month.
