Two men both in their 20s will be produced at the Nasinu Magistrates Court this morning charged for their alleged involvement in an aggravated robbery at a Nadera Medical Centre.
The two have been charged with one count each of aggravated robbery and resisting arrest while one of the accused has been charged with one count of criminal intimidation.
The incident occurred on Monday afternoon where one of four men had allegedly walked into the medical practice and asked to see a dentist and had walked out after being advised by the doctor.
It is alleged that seconds later he and three others armed with a cane knife stormed into the reception area, where they threatened and robbed the receptionist.
It is alleged that they entered one of the doctor’s examination room where they threatened the doctor and a patient before stealing a mobile phone, backpacks and the receptionist’s personal belongings.
A call was made to the Valelevu Police Station and all operational officers were alerted of the incident.
The Southern Division Taskforce team that was near Laqere headed towards the area and based on information gathered at the scene, they pursued the suspects on foot while another group pursued the suspects in a vehicle.
The three were arrested at Salagi Housing within 15 to 20 minutes of the report being received and all items believed to have been stolen were recovered.
Meanwhile the third suspect remains admitted at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital as the hunt for the fourth suspect continues.
