Two men who allegedly caused the death of five people by setting a house on fire in Narere, Nasinu appeared in the Suva High Court this morning.

Binesh Prasad and Matthew Gunua are charged with five counts of murder and one count each of arson and damaging property.

Both have been remanded in custody.

Prasad’s lawyer says that his client is a known diabetic patient and requested treatment at the Samabula Health Centre.

Judge Salesi Temo said Prasad can be seen by the prison doctors at the Samabula Health Centre.

The case will be recalled on the 26th of this month.
