The Nasinu Town Council is still awaiting the transfer of the land title from the Nasinu Land Purchase Co-operative to begin the work at the new market site at Laqere .
Nasinu Town Council Special Administrator Mosese Kama says the Co-operative owns the land.
Kama says the council is hoping to receive the land title in mid-December and once that is done works will begin.
Last month, the two parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding – giving Nasinu Land Purchase Co-operative three months to finalize everything.
About 200 vendors will benefit from the project for which government has set aside $1.2 million.
This will include a car park, changing and feeding rooms and a proper rest room, for those who come from the interior of Viti Levu.
