Thorough procedures were followed: Krishnan

The Engineering Company that gave the green light for the construction of the WG Friendship Plaza on McGregor Road in Suva has denied claims of improper structural design.

Principal Engineer for Engineered Design, Vijay Krishnan has told FBC News that thorough procedures were followed to design and modify the building to suit local conditions.

Krishnan says more details and clarification will be released at a press conference tomorrow with the WG Construction Company.

WG Construction company spokesperson, William Wu has denied receiving any stop work order and says all works are progressing as normal.

Meanwhile, the thirty storey building is expected to be completed next year.

The Plaza includes a two storey basement and is said to become the tallest building in Fiji and the South Pacific.
