Technology impacting Education

Technology is increasingly impacting the quality of education, says Minister for Education Rosy Akbar.

She addressed the Council of Pacific Education triennial conference in Nadi last week where close to 20 affiliated teachers unions, researches and academics are gathered from nine Pacific Island countries.

The Education Minister says increasingly, as technology controls more of our lives, we need to look at the “human side” of education – values, skills, teamwork, innovation, out of the box thinking and ability to research.

School enrolments she says have grown annually since the Fijian government initiated free education from kindergarten to Year 13 in 2014.
