TB and Brucellosis testing planned for cattle

November 20, 2017 4:35 pm

The Ministry of Agriculture and Biosecurity Authority will soon be conducting Bovine Tuberculosis (TB) and Brucellosis testing of all cattle.

This will be done under the Brucellosis and Tuberculosis Eradication Campaign (BTEC).

The Ministry and BAF are warning all farmers concerned to cooperate and present their cattle for testing after receiving the notice.

The farmers are also advised to provide safe and adequate testing facilities in order to avoid accidents to BTEC testing officers.

The two organizations warn that testing in cattle is compulsory and farmers who fail to do so may face legal action, liable to penalties prescribed under the Biosecurity Act 2008.
