The Fiji Police Force is seriously concerned with a report of three primary school students allegedly attempting to take their own lives last night fearing they had failed an exam.
FBC News has been reliably informed that one of the students died this morning.
Two of the victims are aged 13 while the third is aged 14 years.
The three residing in Vatuwaqa are alleged to have taken the drastic step last night and were all subsequently rushed to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital.
The police force is pleading with parents and guardians to spend quality time with their children and encourage dialogue so they can be forthcoming with personal issues.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro says that elders shouldn’t place unrealistic expectations on their child and accept what they are capable of achieving.
Developing the open relationship with your child will enable them to share their concerns and not be influenced by others in to taking such drastic measures to solve a problem that can easily be dealt with.
