The Kalabu Bridge on Kalabu Road in Nasinu will be closed for three weeks from today.

It will re-open on August 7th.

Fiji Roads Authority acting chief executive, Robert Sen, says they will carry out necessary structural repairs during this period.

The FRA engineers have identified a large crack on one side in their recent inspection.

Sen says the foundation of the bridge is concrete and once this is poured it will take a number of days to cure before any live traffic can be allowed over it.

Motorists and residents in the area will have to make adjustments to their travel route and gain access through Tovata Road.

Sen says a temporary pedestrian crossing and a bus turning area will also be constructed beside the bridge.
