Nurturing strong families is the key to building a strong nation says Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Permanent Secretary Dr Josefa Koroivueta at the Sawani Family Fun Day.
The event was organised by the Sawani Crime Prevention Committee and the Ministry of Women to raise awareness on child protection and families.
Dr Koroivueta reiterated on the importance of positive parenting and ways to build a prosperous family.
“Government has reached out to communities to comprehensively address the needs of the people through a caring and compassionate approach. Families are at the centre of development through the empowered programs of the Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation. We promote positive parenting because we value the lives of our children. Parents need to prioritise their children and family; there should be integrity and unity among the family members.”
Dr Koroivueta reaffirmed the Ministry’s continued support to raise awareness on family development in Fiji.
