Serving inmate – Ilaitia Nalawa appeared at the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday for an offence he allegedly committed in 2009.

It is alleged Nalawa who was working as a security officer, conspired with an accomplice to break into the Service Station which he was supposed to guard.

Nalawa and his accomplice Saula Vunivesi allegedly broke into the Service Station in Nabua and stole items including tobacco and recharge cards.

Both men are charged with one count of conspiracy and one count of shop breaking.

Nalawa is currently serving 18-years imprisonment for raping a nine-year-old girl in Nakasi last year.
