National 7’s rep Isake Katonibau has been remanded for seven days.

Katonibau is charged with one count of serious assault.

It is alleged Katonibau assaulted special Police constable Peni Verekauta in Suva yesterday.

The defense counsel requested the matter to be called in court tomorrow.

However, Magistrate Waleen George told the accused that this was not the first time he committed an offence of this nature.

Magistrate George says assaulting an officer is a serious offence.

The matter has been adjourned until next Monday.
