Opposition Leader Ro Teimumu Kepa is questioning the need to get a permit to hold constituency meetings.
Speaking in Parliament this morning, Ro Teimumu says the government doesn’t need a permit to visit places to meet with the people but the Opposition Parties are required to do so.
She queried if a permit is really needed for them to visit those that voted them into Parliament.
Ro Teimumu asked the Defence Minister Timoci Natuva to treat them like Parliamentarians and not get them to apply for a permit.
Natuva replied that if the Oppsoition MP’s want such changes, they can write to government and their request will be taken to the right authority.
