Residents in Rewa Delta urged to move to higher grounds

The National Disaster Management Office is advising villagers and communities situated along and near the Rewa River and the delta areas to move to higher ground or an evacuation centre as a precaution.

This as the water level at the Rewa River has surpassed the critical level of 4.0 metres and rain is continuing.

The latest reading taken at midday is 4.40 meters and water levels continue to rise.

Public are advised to act while it is still daylight.

Farmers are advised to secure their property and move livestock to safe ground.
