Report to Police if you feel unsafe to drive: Raben

The Fiji Taxi Association has condemned three alleged cases of assault on taxi drivers over the weekend.

Fiji Taxi Association President Raben Singh says the Association is aware of a case in the central division while the other two were from the western division.

Raben says the service provided by taxi drivers should be acknowledged and respected.

He has also called on taxi drivers to do the right thing and inform police if they feel unsafe.

“Drivers supposed to go and report to any nearest police station when they moving around or the police post around in town, or the checkpoint, if they are not safe to drive they could have reported and they take the passengers where the passengers supposed to go down to.”

Meanwhile, the 53-year-old taxi driver who had sustained injuries from a robbery remains admitted at CWM hospital.

FBC News has sought comments from Police on the incident.
