In an effort to improve the skill base of the Fulton Hogan Hiways and its employees, a refresher training was conducted.
The week-long intensive exercise was an opportunity for FHH grader operators to gauge their current level of expertise and the quality of work.
The training focused on the technical aspects of road grader operations and with an on-site demonstration by formerly Suva-based FHHJV Knowledge Transfer Manager Danny Poharama.
Poharama says the course emphasized on taking grader operators back to the basics, which included pre-start checks, routine maintenance and overall care for their machines.
He says the work of grader operators can easily become routine and it’s important they remain excited about the contribution that they make.
