The Fiji Red Cross Society is still in communities that were affected by Cyclone Winston assisting families as part of its Recovery Phase.

Executive Director, Eseroma Ledua says they have surpassed their target of helping 77 thousand families and there are more still in need for assistance.

”We still exist in Koro, we are still in Rotuma, we are still in Rakiraki and all the other areas that you know that were affected and we are still working on those areas.”

Ledua says they are still assisting families who are living in tents and are in urgent need for basic needs.

He adds they are rolling out aids from the International Federation of the Red Cross including aids from Red Cross branches around the country that were not affected by the cyclone.

Meanwhile, the Red Cross Society will begin its National Appeal tomorrow.
