Re-grading and metalling work along Korovatu Road, which runs off the main Labasa-Wainikoro Highway, has been completed.

Fulton Hogan Hiways Labasa Supervisor, Pauliasi Qalo says they did the road by using AB65 millimetre material which should withstand the usual traffic common to farming areas such as this, like school buses, farming tractors, and four wheel drives.

Qalo says this also involved spot metalling works with the aid of a grader, a 10 tonne roller, and a water truck to soften up the tough surface and also keep dust down.

Over 200 cane and rice farming residents, and school children especially depend on the road daily.
