The Rakiraki Town is currently closed due to flooding.

The Naqoro Flats and FSC Roads are now underwater.

At 4pm today, the water level at Rakiraki station was 0.78 meters above warning level and increasing.

Given this increasing water level and the high tide at 9:52PM later tonight, the National Disaster Management Office is urging those living in these affected areas to evacuate to safeground or an evacuation center immediately.

Those in the Rakiraki Town area are advised that Penang Sangam High School is open as the nearest evacuation center.

Police and the Office of the Provincial Administrator Ra are now monitoring the movement of people in and around Rakiraki town and are on standby to assist with evacuation.
