PSC appoints PS to various ministries

Joshua Wycliffe is moving from the Ministry of Local Government, Housing and Environment to become PS for the Ministry of Waterways and Environment.

The Public Service Commission has, with the agreement of the Prime Minister, appointed some new and re-assigned Permanent Secretaries to the various ministries.

Craig Strong takes up the PS role for Ministry of Fisheries, while Pene Baleinabuli returns to the Ministry of Forests after serving in the President’s office.

Sanjeeva Perera is now PS for Ministry of Housing and Community Development.

Former Fiji football skipper, Maritino Nemani has been appointed PS for Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Current Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Medical
Services, Susan Kiran moves to take up the role of PS to Civil Service Ministry.

Kiran, will continue to act as Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Services until 15 May 2019 and will then take up her new appointment.

In addition to these appointments, the Commission, has reassigned Osea Cawaru from the PS for Defence and National Security to the position of PS for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations.

Bernadette Welch the Permanent Secretary for Civil Service is reassigned to the position of Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Services with effect from 15 May 2019.

The Commission has also, re-appointed the following Permanent Secretaries for a further period of three years.

Agriculture Ministry, David Kolitagane, Industry, Trade & Tourism, Shaheen Ali and iTaukei Affairs, Naipote Katonitabua.

Office of the Prime Minister, Sugar Industry & Immigration, Yogesh Karan and Rural & Maritime Development, Meleti Bainimarama
