Prosthetic breasts are now available for women who’ve had a Mastectomy due to breast cancer.
Australian women who suffer from cancer have made a donation to Fiji’s Health Ministry to assist Fijian women.
Assistant Minister for Health Veena Bhatnagar says breast cancer remains amongst the top two types of cancer in females.
In 2013, one hundred and seventy nine women had breast cancer.
‘’These statistics indicate or is calling for an urgent need for quality cancer control .There 9s strong urgency to develop effective and affordable approaches to improve early detection, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer among women living in less developed countries’’.
Bhatnagar says the high mortality rate for breast cancer patients is mostly due to late detection and diagnosis since many women don’t show up to hospitals or clinics until it’s too late.
