A 29-year-old man alleged to have caused the death of a corrections officer in Nadi, appeared in the Lautoka High Court yesterday.

Penaia Nawalu is currently charged with one count of murder.

The matter was called in court to check on the information and disclosures.

However, the Prosecution has sought more time to file the information and disclosures.

It is alleged that Nawalu and the victim who were intoxicated got into a fight outside a nightclub in Nadi last month, which resulted in the tragic incident.

Bail has been extended for Nawalu who will reappear on the 24th of next month.
