Power outage in parts of Fiji

The current weather condition has caused power outage in some parts of the country.

In the Northern division, in Savusavu, Naidi Village to Navava Estate are without electricity – as well as from Nabauto to Wainiqeu.

The whole of Savusavu Town is also without power.

Labasa Town also has no electricity from early this morning as well as Malau, Nasekula and from Vulovi to Vuniyalayala.

In the Western Division, the whole area between Tavua and Rakiraki is without power supply and now Lautoka.

In the Central division, power is out at the Rewasau and Laselvu feeders as well as the Monasavu depot and the repeater stations and at Veikoba.

The Fiji Electricity Authority says power supply restoration may take a while due to safety concerns.

FEA says they will continue to monitor the situation as FEA teams are on standby and will be deployed to inspect damage as the weather clears and affected areas become accessible.
