A 19 year old unemployed man will be appear at the Labasa Magistrates Court today charged with two counts of rape.

The accused allegedly sexually assaulted a 9 year old student last month in Taveuni.

The incident happened when the victim went to his neighbors’ house to have his mobile phone charged.

On his way he was called by the accused who took the victim behind a toilet and allegedly made him conduct a sexual act.

It is alleged this happened on two other different occasions.

In another incident, a 31 year old carpenter of Labasa has been charged with sexual assault.

The accused allegedly sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl on Sunday at her home.

The accused is known to the family and was staying with the family when the alleged incident took place.

He is to appear at the Labasa Magistrates Court today.

And in a third incident a 22 year old farmer of Labasa is charged with 5 counts of defilement.

The accused is alleged to have defiled a 15 year old student last year and was having sexual relations with her until last Sunday.
