Police are currently searching for the driver of a vehicle who was allegedly involved in an early morning accident at Nadovu, Lautoka.

Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says the driver fled the scene.

Its believed the driver was drunk at the time of the incident.

Naisoro says the driver lost control and hit an oncoming vehicle.

An investigation continues as five people are in hospital with minor injuries.

Meanwhile, according to an eye witness Waisake Saqanivalu firefighters were the first respondents at the scene and he claims that passengers were drinking in one of the vehicles that was involved in the accident.
