Police request for information on pending cases

Police are requesting the public who may have any information in relation to the alleged murder of Rayna Prasad to come forward.

The body of 22-year-old Rayna was found along Muanikau Road in Suva on Christmas Eve.

Chief of Intelligence and Investigation, ACP Vakacegu Toduadua says they have questioned three suspects and released them in relation to the case.

He says they do not have any leads at the moment and hence requesting anyone who may have information on Prasad’s death to come forward.

Prasad was reported missing by her father and her body was discovered by a farmer of Korova settlement in Suva two days later.

Meanwhile, police are also seeking information in relation to the death of a Security Officer from Vesida, Nasinu.

The 36-year-old’s body was found in a creek on Christmas Day at Vesida.

ACP Vakacegu says they have recorded the statements of the witnesses but no one has been charged in this matter.

Investigation in both cases continue.

And the file in relation to the 48-year-old man who was found lying in a drain at Sarosaro Place in Vatuwaqa, Suva last month will be forwarded to the DPP.

ACP Toduadua says they have completed the investigation in this matter.
