A team of police officers led by the Chief of Intelligence and Investigations, ACP Henry Brown has been working tirelessly in investigations into alleged seditious acts in parts of the Western Division.

Brown says more suspects are expected to be produced in court.

He says the main suspects in the alleged activities have been arrested.

“We are trying to establish who all were in the meeting. The first five that have appeared are key members of the meeting. When we do investigations we have to follow all leads, all information. So if there is information which comes up, whatever source it comes from we have to follow it up. So as of now I will reiterate what Police Commissioner has said we have not found any arms. So there is no threat at all.”

Five men were arrested and charged for offenses related to sedition earlier in the week and they appeared in the Lautoka Magistrates Court.

Another sixteen were charged and produced in the Tavua Magistrates Court yesterday.

Brown says police moved swiftly and acted on information they had received.

A team was sent from Suva to supplement officers from the West who were investigating the case.
