Police call on the public to turn in Marijuana farmers

Involvement of villages in the cultivation of drugs is a great concern and a challenge for the Fiji Police Force.

Police Chief of Operations ACP Rusiate Tudravu says more people in the urban centers are now working with their relatives in rural remote areas for this illegal purpose.

ACP Tudravu has urged members of the public to work closely with them in trying to curb this criminal activity.

“It’s ’s a big challenge for the Fiji Police Force in our effort to control and eradicate cultivation of this illegal drugs and that shows that there is a need for the support of the members of the public whilst we continue to track down on the cultivators and dealers for marijuana issue.”

Six men were arrested in Navosa, alleged to have been involved in the cultivation of illicit drugs.
