A student in her 20s who allegedly caused the death of a woman in her 40s has been questioned released.

The alleged incident occurred along the Queens Road near Naevuevu in Sigatoka over the weekend.

The deceased from Navutulevu in Serua was travelling to Nadi with four other passengers when the incident happened.

It is alleged the driver lost control of the vehicle causing it to veer off the road and hit the steel railings.

The victim was rushed to the Sigatoka Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police spokesperson, Ana Naisoro says they are waiting for the victim’s post mortem results following which they will decide on their next step.
