PM to attend CHOGM meet in Malta

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama will be attending the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Malta, in the Mediterranean Sea next month.

Bainimarama says the meeting is important for Fiji, after being included back into the Commonwealth.

“It is important. It is for the Commonwealth nations and we are going back into the Commonwealth. They have accepted us back so, it should be a good meeting for me and the rest of the Commonwealth leaders.”

After the meeting in Malta, the Prime Minister and his delegation will leave for Paris, France for the COP21 meet.

With a statement for the Pacific delegation to the Climate Change meet being prepared in New York, Bainimarama says they are well prepared.

“All I can say is that preparing is going well and we are looking forward to COP21!”

The Suva Declaration – the agreement signed by Pacific Islands Development leaders is expected to be part of the Pacific presentation at the COP21 meet from November 30th to December 11th.
