PM leaves for New York

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama will leave for New York today to attend the 73rd Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Bainimarama confirmed this to FBC News adding he will return on the 3rd of next month.

According to the meeting schedule, the Prime Minister will speak next Saturday, however meeting proper has started this week.

The General Debate will start next Wednesday in which each member state of the United Nations is invited to speak for 15 minutes.

This will be an opportunity for the Prime Minister to address the international community together with various leaders who often use their speech as a way to air grievances.
