People continue to defy order: COMPOL

Acting Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho has raised concerns that despite numerous warnings there is still a group of people that are not taking this seriously.

His comments come after a 10-year-old boy of Vuci in Nausori drowned while swimming with his family this morning.

Brigadier General Qiliho says it is vital for the public to keep updated with the current weather situation and remain in their homes at all times.

He says this is not the right time to be engage in extracurricular activities.

Brigadier General Qiliho says a State of Emergency has been declared and under this; the Fiji Police Force has the powers to arrest people that defy the law.

He warns people are being taken into custody, when they are found to be Disobedient to Lawful Order.

Two people were arrested in Labasa over the weekend for breaking the law.
