“Our current MRI is now 8 years old, normally for machines such as that by medical equipment we try to ensure that within 14 years we replace them. We already got plans in place to replace the current MRI and that will happen the next 2 years”.

The Minister says the MRI machine at CWM Hospital is working well and has undergone servicing by its supplier.

“We develop some technical issues with the MRI machine on the 13th of August and we alerted the supplier through its locally based engineer. Test run was done on Friday the 23rd of August that show the MRI machine was normal and the services resumed on Monday, 26 of August 2019”.

Under its current plans, the ministry will continue to replace scanning and diagnostic machines every fourteen years.
