Outstanding bills will result in meter disconnection
The Water Authority of Fiji has strengthened enforcement on debt collection of overdue accounts.
General Manager Customer services, Sekove Uluinayau is urging customers to pay bills on time to avoid disconnection of their water meters.
Uluinayau says they have put in a process which alerts customers to settle their water bills on time to avoid disconnection.
He adds the authority also received complaints from customers on the high bills.
He says customers must understand this could be due to casual water usage or a leak in their compound.
“But the high bill could also be a reflection of non-payment or insufficient payment over time. If that is the case, a visit to any WAF Customer Services Centre would be of significance.”
The Water Authority is reminding its customers to repair any leaks on their properties immediately and always use water wisely to avoid high bills.
