Opening of Moto Irish Crossing a concern

April 23, 2012 7:04 pm

Ba residents have raised their concerns on the refusal of access to the Moto Irish Crossing.

Ba District – Advisory Councillor – Viam Pillay says such delays hinder the residents in the area to reach workplaces and schools on time.

“The only thing left is to put the signboard, but why I am concerned is because if only it is open than only normal bus services can be given to the people of Moto, and as I speak Moto is not a small area”

Meanwhile, the Fiji Roads Authority has confirmed that the crossing will be accessible from this Friday after the final inspection has been done.

Those affected include the residents of Nadrau, Chinakoti, Kumkum, Naruka, Vatusui, Toge, Balevutu, Nadadi, Moto, Tabataba and nearby areas.

The Moto Bridge was completely washed away by the recent floods in the West.
