There is no time frame as to when Navua will be declared a town.

Local Government Ministry Acting Permanent Secretary Joshua Wycliffe says they will need to look at various aspects of infrastructure development first.

“We don’t want to declare it a town just for the sake of it. We really truly want it to be a modern town so again infrastructure is one of those things that the Ministry of Local Government will look at.”

The Ministry is also looking at infrastructure development in Nadi so that it to be declared a city.
