As of 1st January next year a dawn of a new No Fault Scheme of Workers Compensation will come into effect.

Employment Minister Jone Usamate says the usual blame game by employers will be over as injured workers will receive compensation despite being at fault.

Usamate says the new scheme will also provide a lot of efficiency in dealing with compensation cases.

“This is always something that hampers the speed in which we were able to process workers compensation payments, because when it’s due to be done there is always this huge blame game which is always going on.”

The Workers Compensation Scheme will be administered by the Accident Compensation Commission of Fiji.
