NFP to continue legal action

February 19, 2016 4:20 am

The National Federation Party has instructed its lawyers to continue with legal action despite their suspension being lifted by the Registrar of Political Parties.

NFP is taking legal advice on the decision made by the Speaker to suspend them from Parliament and whether they should take any action.

Party Leader Professor Biman Prasad says it is important for these issues to be resolved in court.

“We have challenged the Supervisor’s finding that NFP was in breach of the Political Parties Decree; we do not believe he interpreted the law correctly on the questions of who may audit those accounts.”

Professor Prasad says they will not comment any further on matters relating to their suspension.
