The National Fire Authority is concerned about the increasing number of arson cases.

Chief Fire Officer Qionilau Moceitai says 24 arson cases were recorded in 2016 while the number increased by 12 to 36 in 2017.

“Now the arson fire has been going up and we need the support of the people of Fiji who can assist us in that line."

Moceitai says they have referred these cases to police for prosecution.

He is urging the public to call 910 and report any cases of arson that they may be aware of.
